On this day, February 7, 2006 (Tuesday) -- Mrs. Coretta Scott King's Funeral/ Going Home Celebration was held in Lithonia, Georgia -- an Atlanta suburb.

Mrs. Coretta Scott King, the wife of Civil Rightsleader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was eulogized at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church by the President of the United States and three former Presidents of the United States of America amongst other dignitaries after battling Ovarian Cancer and the effects of a stroke.

The final funeral service for Mrs. Coretta Scott King (April 27, 1927 to January 30, 2006) was held at the mega church by some 10,000 mourners officiated by many of prominence -- including President Bush in attendance with First Lady Laura Bush, former President Bill Clinton and wife Senator Hillary Clinton of New York State, former President George H. W. Bush (father of President Bush), former President Jimmy Carter (THIRTY-NINTH PRESIDENT) and wife Rosalynn Carter, and Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts -- the brother of the (THIRTY FIFTH PRESIDENT of the United States of America) John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

Mrs. Coretta Scott King's funeral -- as stated earlier -- was held at Mega Church, the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church ministered by her daughter the Rev. Bernice King, youngest child of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mrs. Coretta Scott King of the famed Ebenezer Baptist Church ministered by Dr. Martin Luther King (father of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Civil Rights Movementof the 1960's.

Surviving Mrs. Coretta Scott King are the "King Family Children," Yolanda King, Martin Luther King III, Dexter Scott King, Pastor/Rev. Bernice King, grandchildren, family, and friends.
