Cross between ghetto and suburb. A step up from the ghetto but not quite white picket fence suburb. Where people from the ghetto move to, bringing with them, their ghetto mentality.
I just move out to the gherbs; from Hunters Point to Vallejo. First day there, there was a drive-by, and I thought I was getting away from that shit.
