What is Thebaine?

Alkaloid found in poppy plants ( and raw opium, poppium). Produces stimulatory effects on the user. This is usually converted to other thereaputical compounds such as codeineand hydrocodone.

Many people who drink a lot of poppy tea find that they will have trouble sleeping. This is due to the high concentrations of thebaine in the poppium used.
