1- In fighting games, the kind of damage (usually around 1 percent of his/her life meter per hit) that your opponent suffers when he/she blocks a special attack. Characters such as Blanka, Honda, Sakura, and Chun Li (as well as others with multi-hit supers) are especially known for being able to utilize this as a major form of their offense. For some characters (coughCABLE) this is exaggerated to an absolutely preposterous degree. (see

"Keep turtling; I'll just tick damage you to death with A-Sakura."
"I bumped into the car behind me while trying to get out of my parking space, but luckily all my bumper incurred was tick damage."
