What more can I say? That above is a tilde but Urban Dictionary wanted more than "~" as a definition. Basically it's used in Spanish for some n's. but not all n's. Makes a sound like the middle n in "onion". This character does matter because of the difference in the words anos which means anus. And the word años which means years.

Tildes are so cool añd should be placed oñ more letters. Añyways, I just wañted to say that I thiñk they're ñeat.

In Internet culture, the appearance of tildes have come to connote strong reactions of happiness or approval. It stems from young computer users in highly excited states having a tendency to miss the exclamation point (!) key while typing, resulting in tildes becoming mixed with exclamation points in their writings.
