a small patch of grass in front of a building or house, usually cut off from the rest of a lawn by sidewalk. Possibly called such because you could maybe fit one small tree there. similar to
a)"Yeah, that old couch is trashed. Put it out on the tree lawn, maybe someone will take it. Otherwise the garbage guys will probably pick it up."
b)"I almost forgot to mow the tree lawn."
