What is Unsolicited?

Descriptive of anything that a recipient did not actively choose to receive, but particularly:

1. Emailor IMmessages. See spam.

2. Browseror Windows Messenger windows. See pop-up.

3. Malware downloads and network transfers. See adware, spyware, scumware, virus, trojan, and worm.

1. I was gone for four days and had 600 unsolicited email messages when I returned.

2. I used to get a lot more unsolicited browser pop-ups in older browser versions.

3. Some browser pop-ups would try to download unsolicited software.
