What is Upper Broadway?
1.
Upper Broadway is the upper portion of Broadway in New York City. Upper Broadway's boundaries are undefined, but in this day and age anything above 125th Street can be considered upper Broadway. This being the case, upper Broadway runs through West Harlem, Hamilton Heights, Washington Heights, Inwood, Marble Hill and into Riverdale where it becomes South Broadway in the City of Yonkers. The borderline for New York City is W.262nd Street. Broadway continues all the way up towards Albany under a guise of different routes, notably known as Route 9.
Some important intersections along upper Broadway are 125th, 145th, 155th, 168th, 175th, 181st, Dyckman, 207th, 225th, 231st and 242nd Street. Unlike lower Broadway, upper Broadway is way more "ethnic" New York passing through many different ethnic neighborhoods on its way up.
