Upstreet

What is Upstreet?

1.

A word in Pittsburghese referring specifically to Murray Avenue around the intersection of Forbes or sometimes Shady and Forbes in Squirrel Hill. However the term is seemingly understood everywhere else in the city as referring to any direction up (any) street in which the corresponding direction is uphill.

I bought a dime at dice and then went back upstreet for some papers.
