"Vantz" is yiddish slang for "obnoxious punk". Literally, it means "bedbug". It was very popular with jazzers and New York hipster types through the mid 1960s.
"If my cousin Sid sleeps on my couch one more night, I swear to God I'm gonna wring the little vantz's neck".
