1. A rhetorical figure in which a word is used to modify or govern two or more words, although its use is grammaticallly and logically correct with only one.
2. An ancient city founded by Selevkos Nikador, one of the generals of Alexander the Great in 300 BC. Originally known as "Seleukya Euphrates", the name changed in 64 BC by the Romans after they conquered it.
