What is Y'ar?

Perhaps the most widely-recognized example of pirate-speak. Used as a corsair greeting, exclamation, or given the delivery, sound of approval or disappointment. One of the most versatile contractions in the English language.

Y'ar! Have ye tried a Baltic squid? It'll suck the bolts from a submarine's hull.
