1. Often used to hail a Caribbean national from The Bahamas, Jamaica, Turks (usually those familiar with urban dialect, Rastafarians, or Bobo-Shanti followers.)
2. Amongst many caribbean youth, also used as a salute at the end of the conversation.
1. (Walking past a Rasta or in the neighborhood of another pedestrian male)
You: "Yessi"
Other guy: "Yessi"
2. (Conversation on the phone, or in person)
Friend: "So you gern to that party tonight?"
You: "Yeah, dread."
Friend: "I ga check you when I get dere."
You: "Yeah den."
Friend: "Yessi" (hangs up)
