Young white guys from the suburbs need to sound cool and tbus cannot address each other with "Hi Tom" or something semsible like that. Those with reeeaaly thin vocabularies have recently been gravitating to 'YO' for 'hi' and 'GUY' for whatever the addressee's real is. The natural contraction has become 'yoguy'
