What is Ytte?

Yield to Total Elation. Coined by architect/artist A.G. Rizzoli for his exhibit in the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition. The exhibit was comprised of symbolic and encoded visions of a utopian theme park that celebrated bliss, including a ‘shaft of ascension in which euthanasia is available to those desiring and meriting a pleasant and painless bon voyage from this land.’ The term captures the call for one to submit to spiritual, emotional, and physical euphoria, and to work toward the creation of a world that demands such yielding.
