A style of music that utilizes electronic and hip-hop techniques to create a somewhat upbeat or sensual psychedelic soundscape. It is often characterized by its use of loops and samples of original jazz and blues recordings but with electronic beats, scratching, and mixing.

US3's 1993 recording "Cantaloupe" is an acid jazz version of Herbie Hancock's "Cantaloupe Island."
