a virtual continent based on the real world, as created by David Byrne while working with the Luaka Boplabel. A fictional culture in which the ethos and attitudes of Europe are overlaid with African sensibilities.

Zap Mama's "Adventures in Afropea" album is heavily inspired by African and European vocal melodies.
