Applebite

What is Applebite?

1.

1) A self-indulgent trend follower of the Apple persuasion

2) A consumer who mindlessly follows the crowd and buys anything Apple related just to be trendy. They eagerly and mindlessly "take a bite out of the Apple."

3) These people often buy Macs because they are supposedly better at graphics than PC's even though a Mac can't do anything that a PC can't also do. These same people also drop $300 on iPods when they could find a much better mp3 player that has way more functionality and just as much memory for a lot less money.

1) My friend Matt is such an Applebite. Ever since he went to art school he's fallen in love with Apple. He suddenly has a Macbook and now he plans on buying an iPod even though he knows for a fact that there are mp3 players that are both better and cheaper.

Matt (in a snobbish tone): I could never buy a pair of black-framed glasses because they're the badge for wannabe artsy types.

Me (in an indignant tone): That's funny because the same could be said for all you self-indulgent poseurs running around with your expensive Macbooks just to look cool. Now if you'll excuse me, there's some dust on my black-framed glasses.
