What is Ayuthaya?

Once the ancient capital of Thailand, today a small satellite of the Bangkok megapolis.

It has many interesting ruins, good value boat cruises, and delicious restaurants by the river. A great place to visit.

It also has badly maintained roads, speeding drunk drivers in pickups, a serious problem with meth ( yaba) , and garbage clogging the canals.
