This is racism-speak for a mexican, because many mexicans pick berries (such as strawberries) in fields in the rural part of the United States. They work for extremely low wages because white people refuse to do their job.
Look at the people working at Mcdonalds, they are all a bunch of berry pickers.

Someone who spends his spare time rooting through bushes at roadsides picking assorted berries, often used in the creation various puddings (look for a plastic bag or ice-cream tub)
