What is Chokey?

A somewhat dated British slang word to describe a prison.
For
nick ing the car, bob faced two years in chokey.

Indicative of lousy weather. Can also be applied to one's environment in general, e.g. your day at work, your commute, etc.
"It's supposed to be pretty chokey tomorrow, but then the weekend should be nice."
