Most renowned datsuns include Zcars and Datsun 510's, Zcars from 68 to 78 most specifically (240, 260, 280z, 280zx) and the Datsun 510 from '68 to 73, in 2 door, 4 door, and 5 door stationwagon.
Datsun 510 definition would include a small, boxy economy car that with little money, effort and creativity, can whip almost every street-rod honda for about the price of a carbon fiber rear wing.
Zcars came with 6cylinder motors almost identical in nature to the 510's 4 cylinder 1.6L engine.
Fivetens (510's) came with fully independent suspensions and front disc brakes, rear wheel drive, and are a common car for auto crossing and road racing.

If god drove a car he would drive a datsun.

The fastest, strongest, most relable car you can get. It blows the doors off civics and ruins ricers ego's. Also beats Bmw's 6 series or less. Also handles surprisingly well for any car. Also most datsuns come fully loaded standard and costed less with air conditoins than a chopped civic with no comforts.

The most reliable and fun cars on the road. Came out with the 240Z which was the first Japanese sportscar to be immensely popular, enough to destroy the British sportscar market by being more reliable, faster, having better handling and a much cheaper price tag. The early Z's (1969-1978) were the best selling sportscars in the world until it was beaten by the Miata.
Datsun also is a racing legend in road racing and in rally racing beating Porches and other formidable sports cars, and doing so has won many championships
