Democracy

What is Democracy?

1.

Four wolves and one lamb voting on lunch.

Democracy is unfair at times.

2.

A form of government where the leader is chosen by popularity rather than ability to run a country.

"I've said it before and I'll say it again; democracy simply doesn't work."

-Kent Brockman

3.

A form of government that works, but not well.

Democracy relies on the public. The public is stupid.

4.

1) A common system of government directed by the whims of mobs and marked by a low tolerance for basic human rights and common sense; primarily used to incrementally transition a government ruled by common law (Republic) to a government ruled by the political law of a few elite (Oligarchy).

2) Individuals get one vote - the ballot box. Considering a) most elections are stolen and b) the mainstream media - whose parent corporations financially contribute directly/indirectly to the campaigns of the major party system - exclude coverage of ALL viable candidates (Libertarians, Greens, Independents, Constitutional, Socialists, etc), the individual is mostly irrelevant.

3) Its two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for dinner. Tonight’s menu is obvious and leftovers provide for tomorrow’s needs. Thereafter, what can the ravenous wolves do but eat each other.

4) Jeopardy answer: What is - How our country fell from liberty’s wings of justice and peace into the volcano of preferential treatment and war?

Every drinking class person in this country would stop screaming about his blisstard neighbors if the sacred golden cow called Democracy was slaughtered today and the Bill of Rights esteemed tomorrow. It will never happen because everyone in this country has bought a rug that faces DC and they pray five times a day to the Almighty G. “The Government saves us all. The Government saves us all … from personal responsibility. Praise my lord, my savior, my Government. Amen!”

The United States Constitution makes no mention of ‘Democracy.’ None!

“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government” - The Constitution, Article IV, Section 4

“Those who vote decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything.” - Joseph Stalin

“The one pervading evil of democracy is the tyranny of the party that succeeds, by force or fraud, in carrying elections.” - Lord Action

“Propaganda is to a democracy what the bludgeon is to a totalitarian state.” - Noam Chomsky

“The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” - Winston Churchill

“Democracy consists of choosing your dictators, after they've told you what you think it is you want to hear.” - Alan Coren

“Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention ... and have in general been as short in their lives as they are violent in their deaths.” - James Madison

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until a majority of voters discover that they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury.” - Alexander Tytler

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” - Thomas Jefferson

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.” - Thomas Jefferson

“Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule—and both commonly succeed, and are right... The United States has never developed an aristocracy really disinterested or an intelligentsia really intelligent. Its history is simply a record of vacillations between two gangs of frauds.” - H.L. Mencken

“A democracy cannot survive as a permanent form of government. It can last only until its citizens discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority (who vote) will vote for those candidates promising the greatest benefits from the public purse, with the result that a democracy will always collapse from loose fiscal policies, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest democratic nations has been 200 years. Each has been through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith.

From faith to great courage.

From courage to liberty.

From liberty to abundance.

From abundance to complacency.

From complacency to selfishness.

From selfishness to apathy.

From apathy to dependency.

And from dependency back again into bondage.”

- Lord Thomas MacCauley, May 23, 1857

“Democracy must be something more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.” - James Bovard (1994)

5.

"The worst system, except for all the others"

Winston Churchill

6.

A failing system of government, which like communism works in principle but fails in practice.

ALL democracies end up serving the needs of rich interest groups and detach themselves from the populous. which inturn results in the majority of the people being governed by a minority.

The current UK and US governments are both cases where a minority vote has put a leader into power against the wishes of the majority.

See black flag

7.

A form of government which America has never been in. In a democracy we would vote and popular vote would decide our president.

In our form of governemnt, a republic, we elect representatives which then get to vote with "our interests at heart".,

America is not a democracy you dumb fucks, it's a Republic.
