Where dominat-E shows power, status or importance, many cultures make use of the similar dominat-O, which means quite the opposite.
Weakness, frailty...exhibiting relatively slow mental, emotional or physical development.
As these cultures were assimilated over time, the term has enveloped other pathetic traits, and is now more popularly known as fag.
