What is Elfen Lied?
1.
Contrary to revisionist opinion, this is a deeply emotional and meaningful series that touched on, among other things, alienation, humanity, parenthood, forgiveness, and altogether humane behavior. A transcendental series if watched with the right mindset. The blood and gore only adds to the atmosphere, they are nothing in themselves.
If you are childish or have childish reflexes on things such as revenge or hate, this may do you a lot of good.
Elfen Lied is glorious beyond mortal knowledge.

One of the best short sci fi series. Most people give up watching the series after the first 7 minutes due to all the violence, nudity, etc, but the show itself isn't all about gore and blood. The series shows great depth in human character, has romance, drama, and psychological themes. Many critics rate it a 9 out of 10.
The main character of the show is Lucy, who is the first of a new species, the Diclonius. She has vectors which resemble hands and can vibrate them at high speeds to slice objects and people in half. Also, she is able to reproduce others of her kind by spreading an infections. This provides a great danger to the Homo Sapiens. As the story progresses, it reveals more about her past and childhood.
"Elfen Lied is so bloody, but the story is very well thought out."

A Horror/Romance/Drama/Psychological manga made in 2002 and ended in 2002 (by Lynn Okamoto). It's also an anime series made in 2004 and ended in 2004 (by Mamoru Kanbe).
The story tells of a young Diclonius girl named Lucy who had a very, very painful childhood because she was rejected for being different. The kid brat tormentors were so mean to Lucy, to the point where they kill an innocent puppy she befriended, which resulted Lucy to have a psychological trauma attack and killing them and innocent bystanders in the future. Lucy has vectors that are unseeable and the kill by slashing and blowing up the victims. She lives with Kohta and his family. Her sweet counter part is Nyu, a girl who is not cold and sadistic and can only say Nyu. Lucy faces off against the army multiple times. She doesn't die in the last episode.
Elfen Lied is only for the people who love the bloodshed, sadness, romance and horror all in one series. There is also nudity, child abuse, revenge, regret, jealousy and the value of humanity.
A great amount of people find Elfen lied to be some of the most disturbing, sad, scary but amazing anime out there.
Give this a thumbs up if you believe this describes the series nicely and that they should fix the dog scene for the better to save the dog. Do what you need to do to fix that moment.
Lucy never deserved the abuse in Elfen Lied.

An ultra-violent science fiction anime involving human mutants called "dicloniuses"; females sport purple hair and horns which resemble pointy ears, and males which have horns and posess no telekinetic powers. The mutants kill humans and each other using "vectors" (invisible "arms" of telekinetic force) that can stretch and easily slice through light objects, and their tendency for violence varies amongst characters. The story also deals with the issues of psychological trauma and repressed memories, as well as moral insanity (particularly dysocial psychopathy) as a result of absent unconditional, parental love. The main diclonius character, Lucy, has a split personality, one of them infantile Nyu, and the other the resentful, solemn , and murderous Lucy.
Though praised by many as unique, the series itself is nauseating to watch as the constant themes of senseless tragedy, psychological and physical brutality, and resolve, do little to endear the characters to viewers. Elfen Lied can be best summarized as an exploitation project involving cliche anime characters than anything else; the art style is redundant, with logical errors and contradictions abounding in the story and character development.
"Nyuu!" "Nyuu!" "Nyuu!"
