What is Emmerich Maneuver?

1. This maneuver is the act of a person who leaves the computer, especially during a serious situation or where that person may be needed, without announcement of 'brb' or any warning that he or she is departing for a lengthy period of time.

2. An engrossing conversation is transpiring and the person is engaged in the debate but then after minutes pass by and people are waiting on his response, there's no signs of life and methods show the person has been away from the keyboard for some time or doing something else while others wait. Several minutes to hours later, the person who has performed the Emmerich Maneuver will often type in 'back' as if to say he had declared all along he was gone.
