What is Fauxnime?

A cartoon that tries to look like anime, but is not genuinely Japanese and, therefore, is not anime.

Powerpuff girls and Teen Titans are two examples of fauxnime.

n: a form of animation not originating from Japan in which characteristics of genuine anime are used excessively, usually to increase TV ratings or generate a false sense of security.

adj: imitating Japanese animation styles and/or concepts

"Teen Titans" is one of the most easily recognized fauxnime shows.
