What is Gnoll?

A mythical beast. Dwells in forests. Humanoid. Canine in appearance.
That freakin gnoll had a crossbow! It killed my fighter character.

A mythical creature somewhat common in fantasy settings. They originally appeared in the first edition of Dungeons & Dragons, as a race that was a mix of a gnome and a troll. Soon after, however, they would become more hyena-like in appearance, being based largely off the were-hyena's of African mythology.
