Hendrix's Lament

What is Hendrix's Lament?

1.

Jimi Hendrix's Lament is possibly the most missed piece of music history ever created. On April 4th, 1968, after Jimi Hendrix heard that Martin Luther had died, he began a flight back to New York. When he got to the Newark Symphony hall on April 5th, his band walked onto the stage, greeted by a huge applause. Jimi Hendrix quietly picked up his guitar and said, "This song is for a friend of mine." He then began the greatest improvisation in world history. Within minutes he had the entire gathering sobbing uncontrollably. The sound was said to be "Appallingly Beautiful". When he finished, he laid down his guitar and walked off the stage.

If I could travel back to one point in time, it would be to hear Hendrix's Lament.
