Similar to withdrawal. Hiatusitis is when something (e.g. a TV show) is on hiatus for a while and fans go crazy. Very common among fans of Lost, who start coming up with off-the-wall theories and spending excessive time on fansites such as the Lostpedia forums.
That crazy theory that the White Shoe=Jacob was a result of severe hiatusitis.
