What is Htg?
1.
An abbreviation for "The Hand That Guides" a shadowy paramilitary organisation whose very existence is disputed. It reportedly governs all major events around the world and is believed to be made up of four incredibly powerful men known by their current psuedonym's as "Laslo, Ponzo, Scout and Rupe". There may be others involved in the "Clan".
They are a force to be reckoned with and should never be crossed.
Man, did you hear about that last HTG raid? It was fierce, the four of them killed two S.W.A.T. teams.

2.
A verb of unknown origin which means to leave a social event without paying one's fair share of the accrued bill. Usually the offender manages to throw suspicion off his trail by paying a token amount or giving others the impression that he paid someone else. Someone proficient in HTGing can potentially save a significant amount of money, but at significant cost to their social circle.
"Man, that douche totally just HTG'd us on the bar tab."
"One time I took a prostitute home, and she was so bad that I HTG'd her while she was cleaning up in the bathroom."

htg = "Honest-To-God"
The use of the term term "HTG" comes from the days when they were developing the atomic bomb in the Manhattan Project. They needed a code word for plutonimum, so they called it "calcium" in all the documents and correspondence.
Well, by and by, the scientists found that real metallic calcium had to be used for something in their top-secret research. They were in a bit of a quandary as to what to call the real calcium... they couldn't use the term "real calcium," since that would give away the fact that "calcium" actually was a code word for something else --that is, plutonium.
So they settled on the term "HTG calcium" for the real calcium.
"So we'll have to buy some HTG Calcium for the rest of the experiments with calcium."
