A statement made to communicate to others that you are gay, though not yet out of the closet; also known as I'm straight
"Jerry, so are you out of the closet yet?" asked Henry. "I'm not gay. My parents would never accept me," Jerry replied.
"Want to go out on a date?" Barry asked Joey. "What the hell? I'm not gay!" Joey snapped. "Don't worry. I won't tell anybody," said Barry. "Cool! So then a movie and back to my place?"
"I'm not gay but I'm going to sit down with my folks tonight and become gay," said Ryan.
Craig: "Ted, I thought you weren't gay." Ted: "That was up until my friends outted me. I'm gay now!"
"I'm gay," Ron said. "No, you're not. you haven't come out to anybody. You're so not gay yet," Wilma replied.
"I'm still str8," whined Leonard "But I don't know how to tell my folks." "You're never going to be gay," said Jasmine.
"Mom, I'm not gay." Bobby said. "Oh my god, you're a closeted homosexual, honey???!!!!" "No, I'm not gay!" "Well, you're not gay anymore because you're gay." "Right! Wait... what?" asked a perplexed Bobby.
"I'm not gay" said Clay Aiken merely trying to tell the public he was gay but not out all along.

a comment used by insecure males to lead others in to believe that they are straight when they are actually bisexual, thereby making the comment true: a person who says "I'm not gay" is neither straight nor gay, but bisexual
Jimmy: "That guy just came up to me and said, 'I'm not gay, man'. I wonder why he would do that." Maura: "He was letting you know he was bisexual, dear. You should go back up to him and ask him if he would like to see a movie with you tonight."
John: "Peter, I was wondering. Uh..."
Peter: "JOHN, I'M NOT GAY!"
John: "Sweet! What time?"
Peter: "Maybe like six or something. I'll pick you up!"
Myron used the term "I'm not gay" in the wrong context and led a handsome young man into thinking he was bisexual when he was actually just gay.
After Devon told me he wasn't gay, I became excited, however he specified that he wasn't bi either. I became depressed.
