What is Justice Shot?

Where some one prevents another person from hurting/killing themself's or hurting/killing some one else by shooting the attacker in the hand where the weapon is located causing them to drop the weapon.
Did you see that guy on that one show? He preformed a justice shot before the guy could shoot himself in the head!
