Derivations:

(1) MACRAME = the art of knotting cord or string in patterns to make decorative articles. (Turk. f. Arab., = bedspread)

(2) The prefix MAC indicates a Scottish person or property.

(3) RAMMY is a Scots word meaning a "free for all", scuffle or commotion.

MacRammie is the Scottish MACRAME or upholstery art of cramming an abinger into a horse-collar pattern.
