What is Merk/murch?

A term used to refer to the Murchison Road area in the city of Fayetteville, NC. The term was coined during the late 80's by locals to describe what had happen to some one who had visited that area and had been killed. It is believed that the name Murchison was shortened to Murch and then adapted to the spelling Merk.
