When people are on msn or texting or whatever and they want to convey the emotion that they are laughing, they use "lol" , which means "laugh out loud", but most of the time this is a lie, as they didnt actually laugh out loud, (everyones done it), a more suited thing to say is "miam", which is short for "mildly amused".
