Its opposite - the McMansion - is a consumer of vast amounts of materials and resources. The idea of mini-homes is to provide a new, affordable, sexy, green alternative to residential architecture.

Mini-homes, ideally, have solar panels, wind turbines, combosting toilets and other advanced, energy-saving appliances. Unlike the 'Trailer' or 'Mobile Home', Mini-Homes are constructed like any other house, being of higher quality materials and longer lasting assemblies.

"So, after the fires/hurricane/flood, and your house burned-down/exploded/floated away, did you use the money from your insurance company to but a temporary trailer?"

"Naw, fuck all that. We got a minihome instead"
