Motor Vehicle Theft:
The theft or attempted theft of a motor vehicle. For UCR purposes, the definition of a vehicle is a self-propelled vehicle that runs on land surface and not on rails. Do Not include farm equipment, bulldozers, airplanes, construction equipment, or motor boats. Unauthorized use of MV is NOT to be categorized as a MV theft. It should be a fraud.
