What is Nyssma?

An event in New York, where you practice an instrumental solo, and perform it for a judge. Possibly one of the most stressful time in a teenagers life. You can tell when your friends are suffering from NYSSMA syndrome the week before NYSSMA when they are in the music hallway every period and begin to scream and cry for no random reason.
Person A: "Are you ready for NYSSMA?"
Person B: "Hell no! I haven't practiced my instrument in 3 weeks!"
