These songs usually revolve around themes such as "beauty", "innocence", "how hard this is", "blame", and "that bastard". This type of music generally serves as a warning signal to any nearby, unsuspecting males.
Example 1) Kris: Hey, man, I just heard some serious period music coming from Laura's room.
Tyler: That time again, huh? You get the ice cream, I'll lock the doors.
Example 2) "Hey, did you hear the new Melissa Etheridge album yet?"
"No, I don't get my period until Wednesday."
