What is Point Whore?

An individual in an on-line gaming world (usually a first-person shooter) who's main objective is to gain points via any means instead of aiding his/her team to victory, ala such

He then advanced to where there were wounded teammates, and rushed headlong into a hopeless barrage of gunfire to revive them, only to see them killed again immediately before they could recover from his whorish ministrations.

A person that posts to web forum boards just to achive a point count,or to win contests.
That assshole is just a point whore, he came here to post for money and the great contests we hold here!

A person that bases all transactions around the goal of acquiring "points" from a retailer's reward system. In many cases, these points are earned at the cost of pennies on the dollar. Very common with people that travel for work, and horde airline, hotel and credit card points.
Steve is a point whore, because he opted to stay at the Marriott across town for the points, instead of the Hilton across the street from his client's office..
