What is Portia?

Female characters in two of William Shakespeare's plays entitled, "Merchant of Venice" and "Julius Caesar".
i.e. In, "Julius Caesar" Act II scene iv:
PORTIA:
I pr'ythee, boy, run to the Senate-house;
