What is Pura Vida?

The law of the land in Costa Rica. The expression is used in many forms, from a greeting, to a synonym for "excellent."
"Pura vida!" (Damn right!)
"Que Me 'Ice Mae, Pura Vida?" (What's up dude, all good?)
