What is Retrotopia?
1.
The term describes a variety of social, political and economic aesthetics associated with a retrospective praxis applied to cultural development.
The word "retro" derives from the Latin prefix retro, meaning "backwards" or "in past times," and "Utopia," the name for an ideal society, taken from the title of a book written in 1516 by Sir Thomas More describing a fictional island in the Atlantic Ocean, possessing a seemingly perfect socio-politico-legal system.
The eco-farm uses a retrotopian approach to their farming practices.
