The terms scia is therefore used to mock the irreverence of referring to the 'starving children in Africa,' or simply as a means of saving the number of energy it takes to describe the plight of the scia.

Person 1: Why are you wasting money on that chocolate bar? Think about all the starving children in Africa that can't even afford the basics to survive.

Person 2: Oh yeah, those scia. Let me enjoy my chocolate bar.
