What is Shit Butty?

When someone tells a poor or offensive joke that nobody in the audience laughs at, it is said to have gone down like a "shit butty"...obviously something unpleasant to the system.
"Ian Foster told the guys a joke about homosexuals. Nobody thought if was funny. In fact it went down like a shit butty."
