Hired heavies in a gang (Australia), or the rank and file members, or accomplices to the ring leader of a gang. Its seems to be rare. If in use at all, it is confined to the underworld.

Tommy Domican and some shitmen were trying to muscle in on George Freeman's territory; and Chris Flannery's job was to stop 'em' Roger Rogerson narrating in the Australian TV Series, 'Blue Murder', which documents police curruption and collusion in the Sydney Underworld in the 1980s.
