Short for the Sigma Tau Gamma a national fraternity. Their largest chapter being the Illinois State University Chapter they are known for being one of the hardest partying frats on campus. They are also known on ISU's campus as being "Sooo Frat"

is a U.S. all-male college social fraternity founded on June 28, 1920 at University of Central Missouri. The fraternity was born out of the desires and aspirations of seventeen men in the belief that all men are social creatures and that friendships of college men are lasting ones. It rose as a result of friendships made while in the service of their country during World War I in France. By dedicating themselves to the highest ideals of manhood, brotherhood and citizenship, they would inspire thousands of men from all parts of the country who would follow in their footsteps.

In accordance with the founding of Sigma Tau Gamma Fratenity at Central Missouri State Teachers College, the fraternity created new chapters on the campuses surrounding teachers colleges (at the time also called "normal schools"). Since the fraternity's beginnings in 1920, they have since spread to more than 140 university campuses across the United States.

Those Sig Taus are a fraternity of gentlemen.

One of the nationally smallest fraternities, who has been deemed to have the "little man syndrome". aka- they are always trying to prove something.

A group of ego-maniacs who think they are the best that nobody likes or respects. The Fraternity that cares too much about what everybody else thinks and has lame parties. Known at ISU for being "So Fag" and not accepting the fact.

Known to themselves as one of the smaller national male fraternities, the Sigma Tau Gamma chapter at Umass Lowell seems much more like a sorority. Sig tau has a sorority style initiation weekend which consists of team-building exercises you might find at a youth summer camp, this pathetic initiation leads to a lack of unity among the brothers (sisters), and some brothers not even knowing the names of the other actives. Sig tau currently resides in an apartment building near north campus where they have terrible parties in their garage. They lure new freshman in with free beer and a promise of fun only to turn away those that don't enjoy their homosexual flavor. Sig Tau's can be found all around campus holding hands, sharing their feelings with one another, and trying to befriend other fraternities. Probably the stupidest thing they do is call each other by their queer-sounding nicknames and insist all others do so as well. Since Sig tau requires very little effort to join, weak pussies tend to gravitate toward the place because no one else will accept them.

This isn't to say I hate or dislike each and every sig tau, I don't have an ounce of respect for the organization.

Today a couple sig taus walked by and invited me to their garage party, so I told them to fuck off and they ran away.
