n. pl. A work-related benefithaving to do with a job (generally contract work for a major company) that on the surface seems useful, but in reality is of little or no practical merit.

The health care benefitoffered to me by my contracting companywas nothing but a skeleton benefit... A short-term major medical plan that wouldn't accept anybody who had to regularly take prescription drugs! And they advertised the job as having " comprehensivehealth care benefits", too!
