the phrase used by semi-educated morons who mean to say "taken aback" when describing an event that left them disconcerted or abashed. usually used by the same idiots who say "addicting" when obviously meaning "addictive."
CHICK: "Wow, so I was at this fuckin party last night and I had a mojito."
DUDE: "Yeah?"
CHICK: "Oh yeah, that shit is so addicting."
DUDE: "Did they muddle the lime for you?"
CHICK: "Yeah they meddled it right in front of me and this other guy was like a bartender or something and he said "quit ordering fucking mojitos, they're a pain in my ass to make and i've got a full crowd here." and i don't know, i was totally taken back- like totally taken back. but I kept getting them because they're so fuckin addicting cause they're sooo good."
DUDE: "you know something? i've never even had one."
CHICK: A mojito?
DUDE: yeah.
CHICK: really?
DUDE: I know. weird, right?
CHICK: that's like a crime where i'm from.
